Few of us realised the science that lies behind the strips of meadow flowers that have been planted around not only the Manor in Sheffield but other parts of our city along with other towns and cities. The Company was originally founded by Professor Nigel Dunnett and is part owned by the University of Sheffield and the environmental social enterprise Green Estate. Mike explained that there is a bit more to the seemingly natural meadow flowers than meets the eye. With some stunning pictures he showed how derelict land, that would otherwise encourage vandalism and bad behaviour, can be turned into a scene of beauty and tranquillity. Those of you who went to the Olympic Park will have seen the results of their work in full bloom.
