Linda is the Labour M.E.P. for this area and gave of her time to try and explain to us the working of the European Parliament – something of a challenge in just 40 minutes. Nonetheless the talk stimulated some quite heated discussion and it was a shame she had to catch a train to Brussels for we could have gone on much longer. What did become clear is that the EEC gets the “blame” for many things for which it has no jurisdiction and which are the results of the UK being a member state of the European Court.
