A lifelong farrier and a Fellow of the Worshipful Company of Farriers for some 6 years, Doug spoke of the work of this most important of professions in the care of hooved animals. He brought along a selection of shoes for horses from shires to race horses. In telling some amusing tales of his working life his love of the profession and his care for apprentices shone though.
